Acoflex 328 is a 1-component waterborne Polyurethane waterproofing membrane used for waterproofing roofs and walls. After application and curing, it will form a waterproofing membrane with high tensile strength and elongation at break of about 250%, the ability to bridge cracks over 2mm, good UV resistance and durability in all weather conditions

 

White Acoflex 328 also has the ability to reflect sunlight and reduce the temperature inside the house

Application

  • Concrete roofs with protective tiles, mortar or exposed ceilings

  • Balconies, domes, fiber cement corrugated iron, cement, tiled roofs

  • Direct waterproofing on constructed surfaces with with Bitumen-based products that are aging, cracked and existing

  • Waterproofing, covering cracks in walls and joints between two houses

Advantages

  • UV resistant

Material Consumption

  • Depend on the thickness of the membrane:
    Primer layer (mixed with 20% water): about 0.2 kg/ m²/ layer
    Coating without fiberglass mesh: about 0.4 kg/ m²/ layer, apply at least 2 layers
    Coating with fiberglass mesh: about 0.7 kg/ m²/ layer, apply at least 2 layers

Safety and Health Protection

  • Work in a well-ventilated area

  • Keep away from children

  • Wear gloves, mask and goggles when working

  • Avoid contact with skin and eyes: If splashed into eyes: Rinse eyes with clean water for at least 10 minutes and seek medical attention promptly; If splashed into skin: Wash immediately with soap and clean water

Using Instructions

Surface Preparation

  • Remove all contaminants that will affect the adhesion of Acoflex 328 such as grease, surface curing agents and concrete chips, cement dust, mud, moss, etc. The best method for cleaning large surfaces is using a grinder and high pressure water jet

  • The concrete surface must be clean, flat and hard to be able to apply a uniform thickness

  • For uneven surfaces, they must be repaired before construction:
    Large cracks must be filled with repair mortar containing Acobond A33 additive
    Expansion joints must be filled with Elastoseal P100 joint sealant

  • Concrete and masonry surfaces can only be constructed after 7 days

Construction

Bonding primer:

  • Surfaces with high water absorption (low grade concrete, mortar):
    Dilute Acoflex 328 with 20 - 30% clean water for primer

  • Surfaces with low water absorption (high grade concrete, quartz tiles, corrugated iron roofs):
    Use Acobond A530 for primer

Waterproofing layer:

  • After the bonding primer is dry, apply the first layer of undiluted Acoflex 328 directly onto the primer surface, wait for it to dry and continue applying the second or third layer according to the waterproofing condition

  • The corners between the wall and the floor, wall and wall should be covered with fiberglass about 15cm wide to enhance crack resistance

Waterproofing for wall:

Dilute Acoflex 328 with 10% clean water, use a roller to roll 2 layers on the wall to seal all cracks and waterproof

Note

  • Wipe off dust and dirt on the lid when opening

  • Open the lid and stir well before use

  • Do not apply on surfaces that are too dry due to heat and radiation, the surface must be saturated with water to cool down before application

  • Do not apply when it is raining or the surface has puddles of water

  • Acoflex 328 layer must be protected from water before it is completely dry

  • Do not pour back into the container any excess that has been contaminated or mixed with water

  • Close the lid after use; use up as soon as possible

Cleaning Tools

Clean tools and equipment with clean water before drying
